Tubing Adventures with Steeple Tubes

The Serpentine Bench

The idea behind the Serpentine Bench was to create a piece of furniture that not only served a practical purpose but also showcased the artistry of steel tube manipulation. The project started as a doodle on a scrap piece of paper during a coffee break, which then evolved into a technical drawing, and finally, a tangible, twisted beauty.

The bench’s fluid curves and seemingly endless loops were a challenging feat that tested our bending abilities to the limits. Each piece of the bench had to be meticulously bent and aligned to ensure structural integrity and visual consistency. The end result was a stunning outdoor bench that has become a favorite photo spot in the local park.

The Roller Coaster Rails

Our next venture took us on a thrilling ride, literally. We were approached by a local amusement park to help design and create the rails for their new roller coaster. It was a monumental task that required precise calculations, careful bending, and high-tensile strength tubes.

From steep drops to heart-stopping twists and turns, every segment of the roller coaster rail was bent and shaped in our Leeds workshop. It was an exhilarating project that reminded us of the incredible versatility of steel tubes.

The Abstract Chandelier

When we were commissioned to create a bespoke chandelier for a refurbished industrial loft, we knew we had an exciting project on our hands. The client wanted something modern, abstract, and, of course, made from steel tubes.

Using a combination of small-diameter tubes, we bent, twisted, and intertwined the steel to form an intricate web of light. The result was an impressive centerpiece that illuminated the loft with a soft, warm glow and served as a testament to the creativity that tube manipulation allows.
